A tranquil, solitary Japanese restaurant surrounded by the nature of Osaka.

Kokorone is a solitary Japanese restaurant standing in a quiet residential quarter of Hirakata, Osaka. The building is composed entirely of natural materials, with a level of refinement worthy of a Good Design Award. The interior of the restaurant features an earthen-floored space furnished with a magnificent stove, creating a simple and elegant atmosphere. The counter—fashioned from a single piece of solid wood—incorporates the owner's desire to prepare cuisine in face-to-face proximity to his guests, with a sense of appreciation for each encounter.

The restaurant focuses on the freshness of their ingredients, receiving fresh vegetables from local farmers and fish from Kochi fishermen. Seared bonito is the specialty dish. The bonito is grilled over straw on a "sumidoko" gridiron and enjoyed with salt straight from the grill. The aroma of straw further enhances the delicious flavor of the incredibly fresh bonito.

Kokorone flawlessly embodies the owner's hospitality, which reflects a desire to serve cuisine using safe, fresh ingredients in a peaceful dining space surrounded by nature. Here you can forget the hustle and bustle of urban Osaka and enjoy a relaxing time.
