1-star memorable cuisine created with the owner's sense and skills developed from a long established restaurant

A short walk north of Sakaimachi-dori Street from Nishiki Market, the kitchen of Kyoto. A small signboard with the restaurant name,"Naruya," hangs over a Kyomachiya that you can feel the warmth of wood. The owner Ryota Ueshima trained at "Wakuden" "Hyotei", the long-established restaurants in Kyoto, and after 2 years of experience as the manager of "kajitsu", a vegetarian restaurant in New York, he returned to Japan. He opened his present restaurant in June 2014 and was awarded a star of the world's gourmet guide as early as the following year.

The shop with only 7 counter seats has a courtyard and has a dignified adult atmosphere. The dishes made with the best ingredients available at that time are all carefully made with time and effort. "Regardless of the ingredients that I usually eat or the ingredients that I have never eaten before, I always think that if you come to the restaurant, you can discover new things from the dishes that you cook and you can have memorable meals," said owner chef Ueshima. The unspoiled service was pleasant, and the conversation at the counter for the first time in a lifetime will be remembered as part of the delicious meal. It is a new famous restaurant in Kyoto that you can visit every season.

    流石に、ミシュランから星を獲得されているだけあって素晴らしいお料理の数々には感動し、納得しました!!! 京都の名店や米国でご活躍されていた料理長の素材を生かしたお料理には、感服しました。特に、おすましが、絶品で、これほどまでに、舌が満足したことはありませんでした。料理長の城崎のご実家の看板を京都で受け継がれているお姿には、感激しました。お伺いする為に、新幹線で、又、京都で一泊することになりましたが、大満足でした!!!

    京都デビュー&勤続25年の記念日でした。 なる屋さんは店の雰囲気が心地よく、初めてにもかかわらず全く違和感がありませんでした。 もちろん料理と酒、酒談義にも満足しました。 翌日、ご主人推薦の洋菓子店の焼菓子を味わい、これまた大満足でした。
