Sophisticated two-star modern French cuisine that connects the circle of manufacturers and guests.

In December 2016, ""Crony"" opened along Roppongi Dori in Nishi-Azabu, jointly run by Kazutaka Ogawa, the longtime manager of the three-star restaurant ""Quintessence"" and Michihiro Haruta, who trained at some of the world's most famous starred restaurants. The restaurant's name means "permanent tea-drinking friend," and the idea of "friends who are comfortable to be with each other all the time and can converse without hesitation" is expressed in the restaurant's name.

Mr. Haruta, a chef always being brimful of ideas, had experienced at ''Quintessence'', ''Ledoyen(awarded restaurant in Paris)"", ""Saison'(awarded restaurant in San Francisco)"", ""MAAEMO(awarded restaurant in Norway"" and ""KADEAU(awarded restaurant in Denmark)"". He has served as a chef ""TIRPSE"" as well, a restaurant won the world gourmet guide award with the shortest time in the world.
Haruta's cuisine is full of seasonal flavors and ingredients, and he uses his wealth of experience in French, Scandinavian, and American cuisine to express his appreciation for all ingredients and producers. In 2023, the restaurant also received an award from the International Gourmet Guide as a restaurant that promotes sustainability.
The course begins with a cup of tea. The menu features seasonal dishes sublimated with delicate techniques using ingredients that have been produced in consideration of the global environment by visiting producers in various regions of Japan. Another major feature of ""Crony"" is that "bread," which in restaurants is something to be picked up between dishes, is served as one of (the star) dishes of the course. The "sourdough," a specialty of San Francisco, has an exquisite balance between the savory surface and the moist, chewy texture of the inside. In addition, the restaurant makes butter from sake lees, which cannot be consumed because of food loss, and serves it as a specialty along with the bread. The course content changes little by little, and every dish is replaced after about two months. The culinary world spun by ""Crony"" is so interesting that you want to witness its minute evolution without waiting for the seasons to change, and the pairings by the manager, Mr. Ozawa, further expand the world view. Since its opening, ""Crony"" has been a hit with the palates of celebrities not only in Japan but in many other countries as well.

The restaurant has a high ceiling with large glass windows, an organic interior with earthen walls and wood furniture, and comfortable lighting that creates a sense of elegance and warmth.
