LACERBA, a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station in Osaka, is an Italian restaurant located in a corner of a commercial area dotted with a selection of famous restaurants. It is a popular restaurant that gained its reputation by chef’s free expression of cuisine that he feels it delicious.
Chef Fujita went to Italy after graduating from university. He traveled all over the country and trained at various restaurants including Michelin two-star restaurant. Then, he returned to Japan and opened Taverna Delle Tre Lumache in Minami Morimachi in 2007.
The restaurant became known to serve authentic local Italian cuisine, something that is rare in Japan. In 2015, the restaurant was moved to Kitashinchi,Osaka and renamed LACERBA. There the chef showed more freedom in the cuisine: dishes created to suit the palate of Japanese guests while using local Italian cuisine as a base evolved into modern cuisine full of creativity and originality unique to LACERBA.
The course contents change monthly, and each dish is made with the chef's desire that "all dishes are a specialty". Ingredients are carefully selected from foodstuffs delivered directly from farmers in local areas such as Osaka, Wakayama, and Nara. The cuisine is served with wares crafted by contemporary Japanese artists, creating a story for each dish. To top it all off, wine that is best paired with the menu is selected.
The open atmosphere of the restaurant is created by the interior, with a glass wall, 6 seats at a beautiful wooden counter and 10 table seats. The service staff is all experienced, known for their impeccable hospitality and ability to handle all situations, making LACERBA a great place for everything from anniversaries and business dinners to dates.
