Steakhouse Baron celebrates its 50 year anniversary.
We have been aiming for 50 years since our opening. My dream finally came true this fall, November 1.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our many customers.
At this time of the year, we can never do flashy events, but we will continue to devote ourselves without forgetting our original intention.
At the moment, we are open for 1 group (7 ~ 8 people) per day by reservation only.
To celebrate our 50 year anniversary, we are currently offering our famous brew wine at a bargain price.
Please let us know when you make a reservation.
Steakhouse Baron is hidden gem on the second floor of a building facing Ginza Dori street, in the center of Kumamoto City's downtown area. Despite its small 6-seat counter and 1 table interior, Steakhouse Baron is a Kyushu restaurant is known for being a spot where you can enjoy high-quality steak and expensive wine, where foodies from all over the country come to visit. Owner chef Toshihiro Iwata’s entry into steak restaurant management was self-taught, based on his experience eating at a wide range of restaurants from Japan to France. He opened Steakhouse Baron at age 21 when he was the senior of university. It will be the 50th anniversary in November 2021.
"I am a steak-grilling enthusiast", says Iwata, and true to his word, his passion for wine and food is wonderful, establishing his own method from purchasing to curing and grilling, building a reputation that spans over four decades. Chef Iwata carefully selects beef in time with a guest's reservation; "In order to serve the meat in its best state, the entire process of purchasing to serving the customers is important, like wine" he says. He begins to prepare the meat to have it in its best condition 2 to 3 days before the reservation, and on that day, chef Iwata will cut the best part in front of you and take his time to grill it in the kitchen. The beef is Kuroge Wagyu, purchased from the Kyushu region, centering around Kumamoto. In addition, the horse meat sashimi is from Kumamoto, and the rice ranked the best in Japan from Nanashiro in Kikuchi city in Kumamoto, is popular as well.
According to Chef Iwata, "the finest wine serves as a sauce for the highest quality steak". The restaurant boasts a great collection of wine, because the customer should "enjoy the harmony of top quality steak and wine that goes best with it". At any given time, the restaurant's wine cellar houses over 100 bottles and the underground cellar contains 250 types of not only the world's best quality wine, but also wine that has been carefully selected from famous wineries from around the world. Here you can enjoy the best selection in Kumamoto, as well as a moment of bliss as it matches well with the cuisine.
This restaurant has a total of 13 seats, and the wooden door has a lot of history in itself. We recommend an early reservation in order for you to experience the best meat and wine. We would like you to taste the flavor that has been loved by food enthusiasts for many years.
