French restaurant Raisin d’Or locates in a relaxed area in Nishi Nakasu in Fukuoka, where many high-end restaurants are located. Opened with the concept of creating “a restaurant that is made to provide good service”, all of the service staffs are qualified with sommelier certificates. While the dishes are authentic French cuisine, their originality has attracted many guests and they were awarded Michelin one-star.
Leading the entire staff and consistently providing high-quality service is the owner and sommelier Hideki Ishii. After working at Hotel Nikko Fukuoka for 13 years and La Table de Provence at Akasaka, he opened Raisin d’Or in 2007. He was able to make the restaurant one of Fukuoka’s leading grand maisons, with the desire to create a restaurant that provides fulfilling service. Takayoshi Tezuka is the chef who was trained at Le Poireau in Omotesando and Le Bourguignon in Nishi Azabu, before he traveled to France. There he mastered his skills at restaurants like Michelin three-star Jardin des Sens and Michelin two-star Alexandre.
After returning to Japan in 2011, he was appointed as chef at Raisin d’Or. Chef Tezuka is known for his vegetable dishes, which fully draw out the sweetness, fragrance and color of the vegetables. In his dishes, chef Tezuka places importance on fragrance. The dishes are made with inspirations, adding fruits, spices and herbs to seasonal vegetables that arrives on the same day. Over 400 types of mainly French wine are stocked in the best conditions. There is a large collection of glass wines as well, including top-quality and precious wine like Château d'Yquem. You will be able to see the true value of the entire service staff that are also sommeliers during the wine pairing.
To match with the restaurant name "Raisin d’Or" (golden grapes), the interior of the restaurant is decorated with gold in various places, creating a sense of relaxed luxury. There is also a private room that can seat up to 4 guests, which is ideal for business entertainment, anniversaries and dates.
