Among the areas of Osaka with many restaurants, Fukushima is the area with many diverse restaurants. Standing out among them is Kamoshiya Kusumoto, which has been gaining popularity since its opening in October 2006.
The owner chef, Noriyuki Kusumoto, who learned cooking by self-taught and originality are the features of his dishes. Courses change monthly and consists of around 10 creative dishes including French and Indian cuisine, French and Chinese cuisine, Italian and Japanese cuisine or Korean and Japanese cuisine. The restaurant’s name Kamoshiya means brewery, and stocks around 2000 bottles of wine and 200 bottles of sake that pair well with the cuisine. Depending on the theme of the course, for example, alcohol from France or India will pair with the French and Indian cuisine. The Madame is mainly in charge of providing the service, and customers who order a bottle of wine will be served in at least 3 different glasses to match with the meal and to enhance dining experience.
The interior is chic, modern and simple.
The interior uses different materials like wood, metal, and glass, and has a strangely cohesive shape which gives off a relaxed setting similar to that of a bar. There is 1 private room which holds 4 people, and 9-seat counter. The restaurant is not only recommended for dates, but also get-togethers for simply enjoying the taste of good food. With the comfort and attentive service from the Madam, it is the ‘brewery’ where you will want to visit every month.
