Inacasa, a hideaway Italian cuisine restaurant, stands quietly in a residential area in Yokohama. In the restaurant's name, the word “casa” means “home” in Italian, because the restaurant strives to create an atmosphere for guests to relax and enjoy their meals and be served as if they have been invited to a home.
Tadahiko Inazaki is the owner chef. After graduating from vocational school, he worked as a sous chef for five and half years at Kiniro no Gogo in Tsurumi, Yokohama before he traveled to Italy. He returned to Japan after training for three months at Fattoria Lischeto (Toscana), where they make pecorino cheese – cheese made from sheep’s milk. Chef Inazaki worked six and a half years at famous Italian restaurant Dal-matto Nishi Azabu, where he worked as a chef from the third year. He then traveled back to Italy to study more about cooking, and traveled around southern Italy to visit wineries. After that he was trained at Osteria Caserma Guelfa, which is a restaurant known for “slow food”, for three months. He came back to Japan and worked as a chef in the newly opened La Chiara (Omotesando). With the desire of having his own restaurant, he worked both in the dining hall and kitchen at the popular restaurant "Cambusa" in Yokohama. Two years later, after having learned various skills and acquired different knowledge, he became independent in December 2017.
The menu is pairing course for both lunch and dinner. The cuisine includes handmade pasta with tomato sauce and shrimp which has been cooked in Gastrovac (a vacuum cooker) with the dashi stock of deep-water shrimp. The meat dishes which mainly use Ozaki beef and other domestic brand-beef, are cooked by using the "Domino 8" (a wood stove), which is the latest cooking technology. Creative dishes like the dessert “Deconstructed tiramisu”, is composed of the sponge cake and mascarpone, that are separated in order to enjoy the various textures, is one of the restaurant’s charms. In addition, there is a collection of over 200 types of Italian, French and Spanish wine, and the pairing is selected by chef Inazaki himself, along with his wife.
The relaxed and sophisticated interior of the restaurant is designed in grey, with 7 counter seats and a private room that is capable for 2 - 3 guests. An ideal place for anniversaries, dates, and auspicious occasions, Inacasa is the restaurant worth visiting at least once, regardless of the distance.
