Customers can enjoy a memorable food experience with seasonal Kyoto cuisine.

Arashiyama Sakura is located in Arashiyama / Matsuo-Taisha, a famous tourist area rich in nature, and has a history dating back 1300 years. The original restaurant, Ishibekoji Sakura, was located in Ishibekoji, Kyoto, and had been in business for around 20 years, but in order to reach even greater heights, the restaurant relocated to the Arashiyama area of Kyoto in 2016.

The restaurant focuses on the water used to prepare the very important dashi (soup stock), and it presents the many possibilities of ingredients with a flexible way of thinking. The traditional dishes have seasonal tastes which customers can enjoy, such as steamed abalone and crab with seasonal vegetables, the mille-feuille which is garnished with Tosa vinegar jelly, and sea urchin rice where you enjoy it with shellfish soup broth after the first bowl. Other popular dishes include the home-made fruits dorayaki, which combines white bean paste with seasonal fruits, the home-made Chirimen-sansho(Japanese pepper) cheese and homemade roasted duck.

There are 6 seats at the counter, and 2 private rooms with table seats. During the cherry blossom season, customers can enjoy the view of the cherry blossoms at night from a private room for 4 to 6 people. In summer, it is said that customers are able to see the large dai letter and torii shape made from a ceremonial bonfire at Gozan shrine. The interior is made of hinoki (Japanese cypress), which creates a warm atmosphere. This is a hidden Japanese-style restaurant where guests from all over the country visit, looking forward to flavoring the unique dishes and relax in the casual setting with the social able owner.
