Despite being one of Nagoya foremost office quarters, Izumi area is also full of temples and has a somehow relaxing atmosphere. In this popular high-class residential district where high-quality people gather, this Italian restaurant "BOTTEGON" is earning a reputation with numerous gourmets.

The owner-chef Taro Yamaguchi worked in the service departments of the 5-star foreign-owned hotel “Issare Shu” (Nagoya) and “Enoteca Pinchiorri Nagoya” before starting his own restaurant “BOTTEGON” in October 2012. Although the restaurant provides first-class service, it is also designed to let customers relax and enjoy themselves.

The menu is centered around seafood dishes made with ingredients sourced from Tsukiji market and Nagoya’s Yanagibashi Market. The pasta with homemade Karasumi (dried mullet roe
) is especially popular. And since the Chef is from Shiga Prefecture, he also sometimes uses Omi Wagyu Beef in his main dishes, preparing this select ingredient in his unique style. He also selects wine, centering on Italian Percarlo (San Giusto a Rentennano) and also incorporating fine French and Californian wine. The atmosphere is authentic, relaxed space designed around the theme of “The good old days of Italy.”

There are 28 table seats, 4 counter seats, and one private room (up to 8 persons), making the space accessible to all guests including singles, couples, business groups, and families. With its good reputation for friendly service, this Italian restaurant is one that should be on your radar when looking for a restaurant in Nagoya.
