Light, original French cuisine that utilizes Japanese-style culinary “subtraction.”

Nakameguro is a gourmet town that is attracting a lot of attention from food connoisseurs, with a large number of excellent restaurants opening in the area. In June 2020, the French restaurant Restaurant Re: reopened in the perfect location along the Meguro River, which turns pink during the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms in front of the restaurant are "yaezakura" (double-flowered cherry trees), so the best time to see the cherry blossoms is usually around mid-April.

After graduating from a culinary school, Chef Shinya Ueda trained at famous restaurants in Tokyo, including starred restaurants such as "chez tomo" and "le jeu de l'assiette," and worked in a wide range of styles including classical, modern, bistro, and wine restaurants. After working in a wide range of restaurants, including classical, modern, bistro, and wine restaurants, he became the chef of "Restaurant Re:". He says he wants to create a place with customers where they can rediscover the value of local cuisine and ingredients by incorporating ingredients and food culture from all over Japan.

The monthly course menu features a specialty for each month, so even if you visit every month, you will be able to enjoy a new discovery. The ingredients are carefully selected so that they are not only delicious, but also tell the story and background of their creators. The restaurant also puts as much emphasis on wine as it does on food, with a wide selection of wines from around the world, including Champagne and Burgundy (over 100 varieties) carefully selected by Sommelier Excellence, as well as Japanese sake, shochu, spirits, and more to match the cuisine. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages, making it ideal for dinners that do not involve alcohol.

Facing a row of cherry blossom trees, the glass-walled restaurant has a 10-seat counter, tables for 4, private rooms for up to 8 persons, and semi-private rooms for up to 4 persons. The restaurant uses Japanese pottery and Nambu ironware for tableware and glasses, and incorporates Japanese elements throughout the restaurant to allow customers to experience the best of Japan.
The restaurant can be visited on any occasion, including dates, anniversaries, business entertainment, and in the private and semi-private rooms, where you can bring your children. It is a restaurant where you can rediscover the forgotten splendor of the Japan in which you live, and can also use it in your daily life.
