"Roppongi Hanya Ryo" is located in a convenient spot that is just a minute’s walk away from Roppongi Station. Based on the concept of “luxurious everyday meals," the restaurant is dedicated to serving seasonal cuisine centered around fresh seafood from Kyushu, which customers can enjoy together with sake and wine.
The owner-chef Ryosuke Onishi has been interested in cooking since his school days and pursued the path of cooking before working for 8 years in the restaurant, Hanyu Kuta, in Hakata. He eventually became the manager of Hanyu Kuta when the restaurant first set foot in Roppongi, before opening "Roppongi Hanya Ryo" himself in April 2015.
The seafood which is served at "Roppongi Hanya Ryo" comes not only from Tsukiji market but also shipped to the restaurant from Fukuoka/Nagahama fish market every morning. The restaurant serves customers with fresh seafood procured on the day, together with its specialty dish of “blue mackerel”, which brings out the culinary skills of Mr. Onishi. "Roppongi Hanya Ryo" is also famous for their fried chicken, unseasoned grilled eel, and Tokachi beef that is eaten with just salt and pepper – all of which have been popular since Mr. Onishi’s time at Hanyu Kuta. Their homemade Mentaiko is widely popular and receives orders for purchases even from other restaurants. There are about six varieties of sake available at all times, and about 20 types of wine that go with the cuisine of the day, which is carefully selected by a friend of Mr. Onishi who works as a sommelier. The wine served are not limited to just reds, whites, and roses, but also include orange wine.
The restaurant interior is calm and has a 10-seat counter, along with a semi-private room for 8 people. Fresh seafood that was obtained from the markets are displayed in the showcase at the counter, and customers can also admire writing and items from the Edo period. It is well-liked for female gatherings, casual entertainment, and also chefs who finish up work late at night. The restaurant is great for everyday patronage and hopes to share "luxurious everyday meals" with customers that enjoy such cuisine.
