Enjoy Japanese-French cuisine which changing of four seasons with facing one of the greatest Japanese terrariums
Among the bustle of crowded restaurants in the prime location of Ginza, Tokyo, only a short distance from the Ginza Six luxury shopping complex and Shimbashi station, there is a secret “Garden of four seasons” retreat to refresh the senses. That’s all I can tell you, though, because this is a members-only restaurant.
The restaurant opened in December 2017 and has welcomed Akihiro Kitajima as the chef. Kitajima has honed his craft at beloved well-known restaurants such as "igrek MARUNOUCHI" and "Aux Amis World." As well as masterful Japanese fare, the restaurant serves “Japanese-French” fusion cuisine: Japanese fine dining with a French twist. The courses change monthly, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the seasonal flavors of Japan, and the diverse range of small dishes make it a particular pleasure for calorie-conscious diners.
All the ingredients you’ll find here are carefully selected: from fresh fish sent directly from Nagasaki and Shizuoka to organic vegetables fresh from the farm, and even A5-grade Wagyu beef procured through a special route. Naturally, the alcoholic beverages found here are also married with the cuisine on offer. The restaurant serves natural wines selected by a skilled sommelier, as well as wine & champagne from around the globe (particularly European countries) and local Japanese wine. The sake menu here boasts sake from all 47 Japanese prefectures, carefully selected from the JSA Sake Diploma range (a specialist Japanese sake certification). I would particularly recommend the“pairing course”, which matches alcoholic beverages to various dishes – you are bound to enjoy the variety of sommelier-selected wines and sake with small dishes of seasonal delights.
The delicious fare you can enjoy here is not the only reminder of the transitioning seasons. In front of the solid cypress-wood counter, you will find one of Japan’s most luxurious terrariums (indoor gardens). The stunning seasonal flora in bloom offers a gorgeous welcome for guests celebrating auspicious days. With 8 counter seats, 10 table seats and an individual room which seats 4 to 8 guests, this is a unique and extraordinary space to invite a special person for a special celebration – an anniversary, perhaps. Right in the middle of Tokyo, this restaurant is a treat for the senses – taste, vision and scent alike – offering a delightful taste of the seasons of Japan.
