A Michelin 1-star French restaurant “Cuisine Urbaine Lien” is located in a quiet area not far from the Sapporo city center. Sapporo native Chef Yusuke Kinoshita has been honing his craft in Sapporo and Tokyo restaurants since joining the Otaru Hilton staff. His experience has included serving as banquet chef at the Hilton Odawara Resort and Spa. Alongside his training, he has also frequently joined contests and won prizes in international competitions.

In April 2012, he returned to his hometown to open his 12-seat restaurant. He wanted to offer guests meticulous service at the up-close range. Chef Kinoshita enters the kitchen every day with the intention of honoring the traditions of classic French cuisine while also expressing the seasons with Hokkaido ingredients. He uses fresh vegetables and seafood bought directly from Ishikari fishermen to create dishes that overflow with the life-giving power of their ingredients. The delicious flavors of unique Hokkaido seafood like horsehair crab, masu salmon, and short-spined sea urchin generously used throughout the courses are especially superb. Ezo-sika deer and other game meats served in fall and winter are delivered from trusted hunters in Tobetsu. The meat is tender and has no unpleasant odors, so you can fully enjoy its flavor. It also pairs excellently with select French wine.

The white-based restaurant interior is simple and modern, designed to create atmosphere women can comfortably enter alone. Dishes made with generous portions of the bounty of the Hokkaido earth paint colorful pictures on the canvas of the restaurant, heightening the feeling of an extraordinary experience. The warm-hearted service of Chef Kinoshita and Madame create a homey environment where you can fully relax and enjoy your meal. It’s a great place for anniversaries and gatherings with friends.
