French restaurant "La Grande Table de KITAMURA" is located in Shirakabe, Nagoya, an area which retains the historic charm of the Meiji and Taisho periods.

Chef Ryuji Kitamura started his cooking career at age 16. He studied in France at grande Maisons such as "Charles Palier", "Jamin", and "Taillevent" for about 14 years before exercising his abilities as a sous-chef at Girardet in Switzerland for 10 years. When he returned to Japan, Kitamura worked in Nagoya as the head chef at Mikuni Nagoya for 3 years before opening "La Grande Table de KITAMURA" in 2014 as a fulfillment of his dream to create a restaurant that matches the townscape in Japan, which he had been pursuing since his days in Europe.

Kitamura bases his restaurant on the concept “the restaurant is a theater." The restaurant is designed around the chef’s desire for the guest to feel like they are a star achieving their long-awaited big moment, with a fashionably decorated interior that allows them to fully enjoy the restaurant’s atmosphere and their food.

The Omakase(chef’s choice) course is made with the best ingredients procured on that day and made to fit the situation and the guest’s tastes. Kitamura is determined to provide an original meal each time, focusing even on details like the source and style so that you encounter a once in a lifetime meal whenever you come. Just like the daily changing meals, the drink that comes with your meal is chosen mainly from a variety of French wine with the full intention of matching the guest.

The restaurant was renovated from an old residence and contains 40 table seats and a private room that holds 6 to 10 people. It’s suitable for all sorts of occasions, including a couple’s date night, a golden anniversary, receptions and casual meals, and even a girls’ night out. The staff provides service in French and English, so even guests from overseas can dine without concern. Come to this space that resembles a vibrant theater and enjoys the pearl of French cuisine that has the whole world talking.

    妻の誕生日ということもあって初めてご利用させて頂きました。お店の雰囲気が外観の純和風のイメージと違い店内は洋風ですごくお洒落で妻も喜んでおりデートやプロポーズにはもってこいです。 メインのお料理の手違いがありましたが、美味しく頂けましたのでよかったです。あと手作りパンはデザートまでお腹がもたないほど美味しくたくさん食べてしまいました。 またご利用させて頂きます。
