An elegant two-star French restaurant offering gorgeous views of Ginza and the Tokyo skyline

Ginza is the center of Tokyo where contemporary trends meet old traditions. In particular, Namiki Street is renowned for its luxury boutiques and restaurants; perched on the eighth floor of the upscale ZOE Ginza center, the two-star French restaurant Argento shines even in such company.

As soon as the doors of the elevator open, guests are transported into the restaurant’s unique world. Diners are ushered through a dimly lit entrance hall decorated with paintings by Bernard Buffet, and up a shimmering spiral staircase into a main dining room where spectacular two-story, floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views over the vibrant streets of Ginza.

The restaurant is run by the Hiramatsu, which owns renowned restaurants in Hiroo, Tokyo, and other cities across Japan. One of them, Argento ASO, a two-star restaurant, ranked among the most prestigious eateries in Tokyo, and was later reborn as Argento.

Argento is helmed by chef Kentaro Suzuki, who honed his culinary skills at Sens & Saveurs and Brasserie Paul Bocuse Daimaru Tokyo, before taking leading the kitchen at restaurant ICONIC in September 2016. He took his current position in January 2019.

Suzuki excels at innovative modern French dishes that are a breathtaking marriage of flavors, using colorful Japanese ingredients at their peak as a foundation. Each French dish created by this talented chef, using techniques unbound from French culinary traditions, weaves witty, eloquent stories of the ingredients and conveys the vision of their producers to diners. Each dish is full of playful twists, inspired by the beauty of the seasons of Japan, such as drops of water in the rain season and wild plants in autumn.

Dishes are paired to a wide selection of wines only available at a restaurant with the pedigree of the Hiramatsu Co. Additionally, wine pairings suggested to enhance the flavors of each dish are created with input from the sommelier, who joins each sampling meeting.

Argento’s dining room accommodates up to 40 guests, with four private rooms (each with 2 to 20 seats), and a salon, all adorned with the same elegant, contemporary design. Notably, the salon boasts an impressive crystal chandelier and seats up to 120.

The restaurant is perfect for formal gatherings, parties with friends, intimate meals with a partner, or a proposal of marriage. Multilingual menus for non-Japanese guests are also offered. Guests are invited to enjoy an unforgettable evening at Argento in a lush, romantic setting overlooking the vibrant streets of Ginza.
