World-renowned chef Masaharu Morimoto presents his signature cuisine at atelier morimoto XEX on Seijoki Street in Roppongi. With teppanyaki counters, a sushi counter, and lounges for after-meal drinks, this versatile restaurant attracts not only local food lovers but also visitors from around the world.
The restaurant features eclectic Western and Japanese cuisine based on the signature cuisine of chef Morimoto, known as the successful owner of innovative Japanese restaurants in the U.S., and even more renowned as the third generation Iron Chef of Japanese cuisine from the popular Japanese show. Diners can enjoy exquisite dishes in a generous space that was once open only to members of the XEX Group.
Guests are invited to discover the chef’s excellent sushi, featuring the highest-quality ingredients such as oma maguro (tuna) at the sushi counter, as well as Kobe beef and Japanese Kuroge wagyu beef steaks expertly grilled and sliced in front of the guests at the teppanyaki counters. Dining is also available at the bar, in the lounge, and private dining rooms, making the restaurant the perfect place to dine incognito and grab a bite and a drink. The drink menu offers 180 wines, 25 types of sake, and a wide selection of cocktails and whiskies.
Inside the restaurant, a bar area and a sushi counter greet guests on the first floor, while teppanyaki counters await on the basement floor, and private dining rooms and a lounge area are available on the second floor. The sushi counter, made of solid plain wood, seats up to 11 guests, while semi-circular teppanyaki counters seat up to 22. In addition, the lounge area accommodates 20 guests comfortably.
With leather sofas, armchairs, and lighting inspired by the bubbles of sparkling wine, the interior offers a luxurious, elegant atmosphere befitting a secret hideaway for adults. The entire space can be booked out for exclusive use, and it’s also possible to grab a late-night bite.
