A Japanese restaurant where you can savor the blessings of the four seasons following the spirit of Chef Toru Okuda

Ginza, the glamorous district that is the face of Tokyo. Ginza Okuda is conveniently located on Ginza Namiki-dori Avenue, which is lined with many famous and venerable restaurants. It is owned by Toru Okuda, one of Japan’s leading chefs. Imburing a new history of Japanese cuisine.

Under the command of owner Toru Okuda, the cuisine reflects the four seasons of Japan on the plate and impresses guests with a renewed appreciation for the bounty of nature. For example, spring features a celebration of tairagai pen shell clams and spring greens. You will receive the life force that awakens in all living things from the tairagai and wild vegetables that sprout in spring. No matter what time of year you visit, you will be treated to carefully selected ingredients from all over the Japan and outstanding techniques to elevate the blessings of the four seasons of Japan. Some examples are grilled young sweetfish with salt and broiled wild giant eel from the upper Tenryu River in Nagano in summer and grilled pike wrapped with matsutake mushrooms in autumn.

For drinks, the restaurant regularly stocks about 15 varieties of sake from breweries all over Japan as well as Champagne, French, Italian, and Japanese wines. Pairings are also popular. A highlight of the experience is the elegant serving dishes that accompany the seasonal dishes, which are mainly made by contemporary ceramic artists. The guests will be delighted by the vivid bowls and delicate Kyo-yaki (Kyoto ware) and Kutani-yaki (Kutani ware) pottery, as well as the hassun plates inspired by the events and festivals of each month.

The restaurant’s serene space features a counter with eight seats made from 400-year-old Japanese cypress and three private rooms with sunken kotatsu table (maximum of six people). You will feel the attentive cuisine and hospitality whether for business entertainment, a date, an anniversary, or a dinner with that special person. Enjoy a memorable time at Ginza Okuda, where you can taste the sublime Japanese food culture and blessings of the four seasons.
