5 minutes' walk from Shibuya station in Tokyo, ABASQUE Itsas eta Mendi is located at one of the corners of Shibuya 2 chome intersection. "ABASQUE" is a coined word that combines "Aba" meaning offal in French and the gastronomic ground "Basque" between France and Spain.
Chef Shibata who practiced in Europe for many years produces a new-style Basque cuisine unique in Tokyo based on the local traditional cuisine featuring the tastes from seas and mountains at Basque. Mr. Oyama is a senior sommelier, picking a variety of wines mainly from France and Spain for those rare labels of Basque's. Chef's selected course is subject to change in a monthly basis and a pairing course is formed with wines handpicked by sommelier Oyama.
The interior is unified with colour of white and brown, floor is one step lower than the entrance, all these elements with a dull lighting form a clam space for adults. Assorted dessert or whole cake (must be reserved at least 3 days ago) can be prepared for your dating. Kids and baby cars are welcome in lunch time. In the serene corner of Shibuya, "ABASQUE" is the place for you to enjoy tasty Basque cuisine.
