Innovative French restaurant in pursuit of taste
Near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, a French restaurant "Alternative" was born, here at Roppongi Avenue in 2016 Summer. Serving excellent fresh food with its own style,
"I am willing to launch a restaurant with originality by virtue of being unconventional, liberated, let our guest feel interested and excited,." says Chef Mr. Saito.
After gaining experience at at "Mikage JUENNE" in Kobe and "La Branche" in Shibuya, Tokyo, Chef Mr. Saito had been to France to study at Michelin 1-star "Le Benaton" and Michelin 2-star restaurant "Petit Saint-Jean". After came back to Japan, worked at "L'art et la maniere" in Ginza and "Provinage" in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. Finally, he took over "Provinage" and renamed it to"Alternative".
There is nothing like "Alternative". Mr.Saito thinks outside of the existing rules, performing the cuisine based on French cooking skill combined with Japanese and Chinese elements. For example, "Petan Tofu(tofu with century eggs)"- a must-try specialty in Chef's selected course. It is originally a Chinese dish while magically served as French cuisine here.
"No way to miss a delicious thing", considered significantly by Mr.Saito, he makes every effort to make the dish not only being fun and full of originality, but present as a natural food in pursuit of taste. There are around 300 wines collected from France, Germany, Austria and other countries in Europe. Pairing with the dishes, you should come to try the beautiful combination.
Vegetarian and vegan menu are available, please kindly inform in advance. Staff speaks English or French, makes you enjoy the meal without language barrier. Semi private room is recommended for a wine party or dining among friends.
