Taste the ultimate aged meat in Gion, the food center of Kyoto
The Pound Group, which serves dry-aged beef, has opened a second store/a branch of its Teppanyaki brand in Gion, Kyoto. Located on the Gion Hanami Koji street, which is lined with many old and new restaurants, both Japanese and foreign guests are sure to be satisfied with its elegant and luxurious interior - a far cry from its old-fashioned Japanese style house exterior.
Upon discovering the sweet and fragrant dry-aged beef during a visit to America, the owner searched through Japan with the desire to also serve dry-aged beef, and finally arrived at the Hiramatsu ranch in Kagoshima prefecture. There he created the perfect Wagyu which will fully bring out the appeal of dry-aging. Inside a specially made storehouse, where the humidity and temperature is strictly controlled, a rich, nutty aroma permeates; you will never forget the flavor and fragrance, which stands out once grilled. A wide variety of red, white and sparkling wine is made available in order to further bring out the flavor of aged Kobe beef and aged Kuroge Wagyu. You can enjoy the harmony of the wine and aged beef, created through the chef's techniques, at the authentic teppan (iron plate) counter. Supporting the "taste" of Premium Pound are Kyoto vegetables and rice, fresh and full of umami on their own, delivered directly from contracted farmers in Keihokucho in Kyoto.
With a teppan counter which allows guests to witness the chef's exquisite cooking techniques, this restaurant is ideal for business entertainment, dinner dates, anniversaries and celebrations. It comes highly recommended for entertaining foreign guests, with English and Chinese menus.
