The owner's deep passion for meat can be felt in the restaurant's bold catchphrase, "We'll cook great meat for you to eat". Owner Makoto Suetomi is the second generation owner of the fish cuisine restaurant Sakanaya Tomichan in Azabujuban. Even when he was training as a Japanese cuisine chef to prepare to succeed the fish cuisine restaurant, his love for meat was so strong that he went to train at a yakiniku restaurant in Osaka.
After Suetomi's dream came true and opened Nikusho Horikoshi, it became the one and only Japanese meat cuisine restaurant which serves brand-name wagyu beef from all over the country. The wagyu beef purchased directly from cattle ranches nationwide are Japan's top class beef such as Kobe beef from Kawagishi Ranch, Tajima beef from Ueda Livestock Farm, and Ozaki beef from Miyazaki. The delicious internal organs are prepared and delivered on the same day from the producers. The variety of the course menu, which varies depending on the ingredients of the day, ranges from simple grilled meat to original meat dishes such as heart sashimi, 3 types of beef tongue, and yukke bowl with raw meat.
The last dish of the course is usually rice cooked with beef or internal organs. The reason why guests are able to eat all the meat is because the light lean meat and internal organs. The interior of the restaurant is Japanese style, with counter seats and 8 private rooms which can accommodate 4 to 10 customers. With the relaxed atmosphere, it is ideal for business entertainment, dates, dinner parties and many various occasions.
