Ningyocho is crowded with shops of various genres, from old shops to new shops. It is truly a new town. In late summer 2022, Oryori Kokoroba, a small kaiseki restaurant run by the owner and the proprietress, opened in a corner of the quaint city.
The idea behind the name of the store, Oryori Kokoroba, is to express the owner's sincerity towards the customers by taking one character from his name and to combine the meanings of Kokoroba, which is the proprietress's favorite word from the Heian period.
While there are many restaurants, I can't express how grateful I am to the customers who come all the way here. That's what Kokoroba is all about.
The owner carefully uses the best ingredients of the day, and serves carefully prepared "food" that looks like a leaf of the heart. It is a place for adults to heal their daily fatigue and lead them to a new strength by spending a rich time.
In the soft yet dignified space of the tea room, there are seven chairs made of carefully designed horseback saddle made of deer colored leather on the Kiso hinoki counter. While enjoying the comfort of the seat, the owner brings his friends and guests with him to taste each and every dish. Also, you should visit Ningyocho in search of new discoveries when you spend time alone and forget everything.
