Customers can enjoy the seasonal blessings of Tottori Prefecture in Tokyo. Enjoy the stylish Japanese cuisine in a hidden place in Daikanyama.

Daikanyama Sansho is a 7-minute walk from Daikanyama Station. It is a Japanese restaurant located down a quiet alley just off the main street, if you are looking to enjoy yourself after the meal, we recommended this restaurant with its hidden atmosphere as it is not far from the station.

The owner, Yasunori Ishida, has trained at restaurants in Kyoto and Tokyo. He opened Daikanyama Sansho in 2012. Because he wanted to enjoy dishes using ingredients that he loves, he only stocks those which are delivered directly from his home town Tottori prefecture and other regions of Japan, to create a restaurant where customers can enjoy the changing of each seasons.

For example, each and every fresh Matsuba crab, which is a famous winter dish, is tagged to guarantee individual quality, and is examined before serving the customers to enjoy the sweetness and texture. In early summer, guests will also be able to enjoy seasonal ingredients such as Shirako bamboo shoots from Kyoto and Natsuki from Tottori Prefecture. While respecting the tradition of Japanese cuisine, Mr. Ishida’s new sense also shines. They also stock a variety of rare Tottori local beer and local sake, which enhance the taste of dishes.

The restaurants interior gives guests plenty of space to relax and enjoy themselves. The counter is made of 300 year old ginkgo wood and seats 8 people. Gingko wood is used by temple carpenters and is rare in Japan. The counter is 80cm in length.
There is a semi-private room for 4 people where babes (0 years) may also use for occasions. There is also English and French menus so foreign guests will have no trouble ordering. This is a hidden place in Daikanyama, where customers will want to enjoy the blessings of the four seasons in Japan.
