The Restaurant Hiramatsu first began with the French restaurant “Restaurant Hiramatsu,” and from there has continued to develop high-end restaurants in Japan and abroad. Known for providing first class food and the highest service, Hiramatsu, a leader of the Japanese restaurant scene, opened the first restaurant in Kyoto in September 2017. The restaurant has been receiving 1-star from world-renowned gourmet guide.
The 110 year old site was chosen as the ideal place for “creating a new Hiramatsu in a place with history worth preserving.” Passing through the impressive outer gates, and opening the door to the four-story building, guests are welcomed into the airy and high-ceilinged reception room, where they will find a warm and modern space decorated with all manner of furnishings. In the mud-walled main dining space on the fourth floor, large glass windows offer a view of the Tower of Yasaka and of Kyoto’s beautiful scenery, allowing guests to feel the unique air of Kyoto.
In the historic city of Kyoto, Hiramatsu aims to use traditional techniques to create authentic French cuisine which makes full use of the natural flavors of the ingredients used. The chef is Yasushi Kobayashi, one of the elite young chefs who honed his skills at Hiramatsu. With so many items created with bright flavors and featuring the tastes of the seasons, the menu is filled with choices which are simply delicious. The wine selection is carefully chosen exclusively from French wines, with 120 - 150 varieties regularly available.
""Restaurant Hiramatsu Kodaiji"" has the main dining area, 2 private rooms*, and a party salon for up to 80 guests, facilitating its use for weddings. This is an authentic restaurant which can imbue a sense of grown-up luxury to any manner of special occasion.
