Enjoy a symphony of Japanese cuisine, made using the very finest ingredients, in a luxury space containing just 2 private rooms.

"Kawasaki" is a small Japanese cuisine restaurant located in the Nishi Azabu area, where a host of hidden gourmet restaurants huddle together. The owner Masato Kawasaki has built up experience in a number of famous Tokyo restaurants, and from its opening in November 2012, he served as head chef at the specialty live crab restaurant "Akasaka Kitafuku". In April 2018, he set out independently. Because he wants guests to be able to relax and enjoy their meal, the restaurant contains just two private rooms. He devotes himself to providing heartfelt hospitality to the two groups of customers that are permitted in the restaurant each day.

The food consists of a chef's selection of around 15 dishes. Ingredients are ordered in and the meals put together in accordance with the guests. Wagyu Beef, crab, and turtle are incorporated into the course throughout the year. The crab dishes, cooked from live using the knowledge and techniques the chef developed at "Akasaka Kitafuku," is a particular highlight. Crabs including horsehair crab, red king crab, snow crab, Japanese blue crab are used according to the season and can be enjoyed in a number of ways, such as in hotpot or as sashimi. As well as ordering in the finest Matsuzaka Wagyu beef and turtles from the famous Hattori-Nakamura Farm in Shizuoka, high-quality ingredients such as eels and matsutake mushrooms are available when in season. The drinks are also exactingly chosen, with a wine list focused on Burgundies. Around a dozen hand-picked sakes are available, including Senshin, Juyondai, and Kokuryu, while the champagne selection includes premium brands such as Krug, Salon and Dom Perignon. These combine to produce a truly special and refined experience.

The interior furnishings, including large comfortable chairs and tables, are all chosen to match by Mr. Kawasaki himself. The tableware is 90% antique, featuring mainly late Edo-period plates from old Imari, Eiraku, and Rokubei, while the glasses are old Baccarat. As well as being ideal for entertaining or business meetings, you can also bring children, making it perfect for a special family anniversary. With its elegant interior, genuine antique tableware, and food available only on that day, a visit here will be a superb experience that lives long in the memory.
