The owner-chef Kotaro Otsu is a certified Vegetable Sommelier who has become popular for his novel Chinese cuisine unbound by stereotypes. Mr. Otsu spent 15 years training at the Chinese restaurant "Turandot Garyukyo". After serving there as sous chef, he achieved his dream of starting his own restaurant under his name, "O2."
The course options showcase the flavors of ingredients not only from Tsukiji Market but also shipped directly from Taiwan. The main dishes are "boiled shark fin" and the melt-in-your-mouth tender "beef cheek stew." The wine to match is mostly natural wine from France. A full lineup of Chinese teas is also available, so you can enjoy discovering a new favorite drink to go with your meal and mood.
Mr. Otsu's sensibilities are evident not only in his cooking but also in the restaurant itself. Although the interior is small with just tables and 6 counter seats, its high ceiling gives an extraordinary feeling of spaciousness. Space is uniformly colored in dark green and wood tones and decorated all over with the chef's beloved Star Wars memorabilia. Tasteful city pop music plays from order-made amps and speakers, often introducing guests to the music of Mr. Otsu's favorite musician "Rekishi". Add delicious wine and food to the mix, and you can't help but feel joy.
