Soba Kappo Kurata is located on a quiet street near Musashi-Koyama Station in Tokyo. Chef Masaoki Kurata entered the restaurant world when he met his master Masataka Kamiya. After 12 years of brushing up on Japanese cuisine with him, Kurata opened Soba Kappo Kurata in January 2014. Since then, it has earned many awards for its soba noodles.

The talent of chef Kurata is on full display at Soba Kappo, a place where you can truly understand the appeal of fresh buckwheat flour. In addition to visiting the Toyosu market every morning to select ingredients, the chef also uses bamboo shoots from Kyoto and wild vegetables delivered directly from Nagano. The soba is made with the highest quality of buckwheat, made by grinding the whole plant (including the cuticle) and then hand-kneading the dough. Sotohachi, unique to Soba Kappo Kurata, is made by 100% soba with 8 rin of domestic flour, which has the aroma of 100% soba and the texture of Ni Hachi soba. There are always 20 to 25 types of sake and wine available, carefully selected from Japan, France, and the New World. As for non-alcoholic options, homemade drinks made with organic yuzu, strawberries and mountain grapes are popular.

There are eight large counter seats and five table seats for six people. The seasonal and tasteful dishes are served on original dinnerware made by artists, making for a tranquil space that is perfect for family, friends, dates, and business guests. Enjoy the four seasons of Japan at the unique Soba Kaiseki.
