Japanese Cuisine Tagetsu
Meticulously prepared Japanese dishes paired with locally brewed Kanagawa sake

Tagetsu is famous for their careful and thoughtful preparation of dishes. The soup stock is made from steeping kombu seaweed and dried bonito shaved in-house, and cooking it to a clear soup with a rich aroma. In winter, tilefish from Wakasa, Shogoin daikon from Kyoto, and yuba dumplings are combined with the stock to make a soup that showcases the seasonal flavors.

My wife and I could not have been happier with the meal. We truly appreciated the efforts made by chef and his team to translate the menu to English. We are fairly seasoned gastronomes but were still amazed by some of the dishes, the sea bream course for instance was in our opinion something that we will remember for a very long time. Thank you.

Ginza Miyama
A Japanese restaurant where you can experience the finest ingredients of Nagasaki in Ginza.

Ingredients are sourced from local producers, and purchased from reliable suppliers. Especially the special ingredients from Nagasaki which, due to its strict standards for breeding, has a high-degree of rarity. For example, Iki beef and fresh fish bred in the Goto-nada Sea and Tsushima Current. The Iki Beef char-grilled steak, which is made on a skewer and grilled over a fire, and the chub mackerel which is caught off the coast of Nagasaki, has a superbly balanced taste when enjoy with vinegared rice and are the must-try dishes.

As we had a family dinner here, we enjoyed our time ! The food were great especially the beef and udon. As my brother is seafood allergic and he doesn’t like fish, but surprisingly he did enjoy the fish item. We had worry about the dinning environment will be too formal but actually the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We had a very satisfying night and it is a very good started for our trip in Japan. Hopping to come again at next trip.

Sushi Fujimori
Nishi-Azabu Sushi Restaurant That Impresses Customers With its Warm Heart of Hospitality

In the midst of Nishi-Azabu, an area full of talented restaurants stands the stylish concrete outer wall of the warmly lit "Sushi Fujimori". Awaiting customers with a bright smile as they pass under the store’s curtain and into the restaurant is the owner with 15 years of experience training in the metropolitan area, Yasuhiro Fujimori, and Noriko, the proprietress with experience at the Michelin 3-Star Japanese restaurant "Kanda". The restaurant opened in 2007.

The chef and sous was very hospitable and friendly. We came in with very little japanese knowledge yet we were able to have fun and interesting conversations with them as well as other local guests. The food was absolutely amazing. We loved the chefs choices, and was surprised by all the delicious tastes. The chefs creativity with the fish was beyond satisfying. I cannot express enough our gratitude towards the chef and sous for making our experience at Sushi Fujimori truly unforgettable. We will definitely book another reservation with pocket concierge to Sushi Fujimori on our next visit to japan.

Courage
A playground for adults fusing cuisine, fashion, and art

"Courage" is nestled among a variety of popular restaurants in a calm part of Azabu-Jūban. The owner is Zino Aizawa, who worked at the popular Italian restaurant "Il Teatorino di Salone" and also for "Shimogamo Saryo" - spearheaded by Kundō Koyama. He sought to realize her ideal of an "enjoyably superior dining experience" in the restaurant and opened in March 2018.

It was a fantastic birthday dinner for my friend and I’m glad to have chosen the restaurant through Pocket-concierge. For a tourist, Courage is not readily on our dining list and it’s not an easy location to find. We took a taxi to the place yet even the driver failed to drop us at the exact location. Surprisingly, the owner of the restaurant, Mr. Aizawa, was waiting for us at the roadside and brought us to the place. It’s very cosy inside and we had a nice table facing the small outdoor garden. Despite speaking little English, Mr. Aizawa was very hospitable introducing everything to us. We ordered the wine pairing course, which was fabulous. The head chef also greeted and presented us with most of the dishes. His signature dish was the abalone which was simply delicious. A very enjoyable evening thanks to the great team at Courage. Highly recommended to others.

Ginza Kuikiri Hirayama
A relaxing space, pairing complementary “Hirayama-style” specialty dishes and sake.

This Japanese restaurant for mature customers awarded Michelin 1-star within just a year and a half of opening, moved from Shonan in June 2014 as the owner realized his dream of having a restaurant in Ginza. Reborn as “Ginza Kuikiri Hirayama”, it became the talk of the Ginza/Shintomicho area.

Very highly recommended. We were lucky to have booked a room of this local restaurant. We don’t think they have many foreign guests but nonetheless they were most courteous and excelled in meeting our expectations. We had the 7 course kaiseki and it was brilliant. The taste of each of the dishes were refined and the presentation of the courses were spot on. Most importantly, the timing was perfect and we never felt rushed in our enjoyment to each of the portions. Highly recommended!

BEYOND B.B
Roppongi dining offering lump Japanese Black Wagyu "Tamura Beef"

Located 3 minutes from the busy Roppongi intersection in the business district of Roppongi in Tokyo, in the direction of Tokyo Midtown. Descend into a building in a quiet area a little way away from the bustle and a sign for "BEYOND B.B" appears. Chef Takashi Yasuda acquired his skills and knowledge from the yakiniku joint his parents run in Fukuoka. He participated in the establishment of Hakata Mizutake Kamekichi after arriving in Tokyo and opened "BEYOND B. B" in 2015. After devoting himself to understanding the innate flavor of meat, he held a renewal opening in 2018.

We had a truly memorable and excellent meal at the restaurant. The staff was very gracious and tried their best to explain each course to us. They gave us 2 extra puddings to take home after our meal. Each beef dish was excellent was showcased the variety and extensive range of what an awesome piece of meat should be. Thank you for the meal.

Shidaigi
Aged sushi made with in-depth understanding and passion

"Shidaigi" opened in 2016 on the first floor of a building near Yotsuya station. The owner-chef, Atsushi Morishima, set his heart on becoming a sushi chef at the age of 19, and as well as learning about sushi and cooking at sushi and traditional Japanese restaurants, he has traveled to fishing ports across the country in order to accumulate knowledge about fish.

Age: 50's Date of visit: 11/2018 Number of visits: 1 Purpose: Other

I’ve been to many of the most famous sushi restaurants in Tokyo and Japan. Shidaigi was nonetheless an exceptional experience. I have a limited experience with aged sushi - aging adds a depth of flavor and tends to give fish a silkier, richer texture. But perhaps the best aspect of this experience - because the restaurant hasn’t been discovered by Michelin or scads of tourists (yet), the chef lavishes attention on his guests. The meal lasted a full two hours and included multiple appetizers. Among the standouts were a delicious seasonal snow crab with its roe, mounds of Hokkaido sea urchin with rice, and delectable aged tuna and aged young yellowtail sashimi. Whereas typical Ginza sushiyas include 10 nigiri maximum, Shidaigi’s course menu included a whopping 14. Plus additional pieces as you wish. In the end though, it’s not the quantity that matters. The young chef is clearly experimenting and learning, but his technique is excellent and his enthusiasm for his art is clear. I thank him sincerely for a wonderful dinner.

Edo Fukagawa Sushi Nishichi
Edo-style sushi with a special touch served in a calm and modern Japanese space

"Edo Fukagawa Sushi Nishichi" is located in the Monzen-Nakacho area, a place filled with the warm charm of the traditional downtown area. In addition to paying careful attention to the ingredients and seasonings we use, we also believe in taking that one extra step in the creating the flavor profile of sushi and small plates, a way of thinking which has earned us acclaim.

Chef and waitress were very accomodating, the food was amazing, unfortunately I couldn't complete the 27 dishes as I had to make another appointment and they were very understanding. Would visit again and highly reccommended.
