A Japanese Kappo restaurant frequently visited by Japanese celebrities

Yoyogi-Uehara Station is located 5 minutes from Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line. This area in Tokyo has many great restaurants where celebrities secretly visit. Among those restaurants, one of the popular Japanese cuisine restaurant is Kappo Ichika. The food on offer at this restaurant is made with a variety of ingredients, including fresh seafood, vegetables, and Japanese beef sourced from Tsukiji, and our highest recommendation is for the Seasonal Selection Course Menu, featuring a superb range of dishes carefully selected by the restaurant owner.

In addition, guests can enjoy those delicious dishes accompanied by a carefully-picked selection of Japanese sake served in traditionally Japanese Edo Kiriko cut glasses. From the selection menu, the most popular dish is the "wafers filled with Japanese beef and shira-ae mashed tofu and green vegetables salad." Typically wafers are served as confectionery; however, at this restaurant the wafers are filled with a salad made of mashed tofu and seasonal greens, mixed with diced Japanese beef and an original homemade sauce. This is a superb must-eat dish that will allow all guests to rejoice in the changes of its delicious flavors and textures.

The restaurant offers 11 counter seats, where guests can enjoy the chef’s skills right in front of their eyes, as well as two private rooms. The private rooms can be found outside of the main building where the counter seats are located, on the second floor of a separate building known in Japan as hanare (outbuilding). There is no age restriction for children, and the food is prepared in a kitchen dedicated to the hanare. If you are using a semi-private room where up to four people can be seated around a table, then smoking is permitted. If you wish to use a private room with seating for up to eight people, you can have a Japanese-style room with a traditional kotatsu table placed over a hole on the ground, offering a private space where the guests can relax in great comfort.

Compared to other Japanese cuisine restaurants in Ginza and Roppongi, Kappo Ichika offers food at reasonable prices, so it is worth a visit if you are visiting Tokyo.
