A Japanese traditional cuisine with creative dishes and meat in Gion, Kyoto.

A 5-minute walk from Gionshijyo Station, Nikunotkumi Miyoshi is also close to Yasaka Shrine. With a quiet atmosphere that blends in Gion, it is a well-known Japanese traditional restaurant that serves original course with meat.

Owner-chef, Tsutomu Ito was in charge of services at a restaurant. One time, he had the opportunity to eat special beef with outstanding freshness from his friend who was a beef wholesaler. He was amazed and interested in beef cuisine. Through trial and error, he finally opened his own restaurant in 2005. At first, it was more casual, but as he was advised by his customers, and as he seeks to provide his own original course, the restaurant has turned into the current style.

There is only 1 Japanese kaiseki course that changes monthly. The course begins with a bowl of soup stock combined with seasonal ingredients, to creative dishes such as tongue marinated with kelp, steamed rice with sirloin and summer truffle. Authentic meat dishes such as Shabu-Shabu and steak are also available. The meat cuisine will definitely satisfy any meat-lovers.
In his meat kaiseki, owner-chef Ito not only uses the meat itself, but also as a "support." For example, he would use soup stock taken from the meat on other cuisine. Preparing meat in different ways result in interesting cuisine. You could also enjoy various seasonal ingredients, such as matsutake mushroom and truffle.

Five different beef parts are available for the main steak, and you can choose your preferred part. He only uses carefully-selected female cow and the most delicious one in season; for instance, Kobe beef, Omi beef, and the special and rare Matsuzaka beef.

There are 6 counter-seats and 12 table-seats where you can enjoy the calm atmosphere of Gion.
Table-seats are perfect for a business meeting; whereas if you are a meat-lover, you can enjoy watching the meat preparation at the counter-seats. You would get excited with what dish to expect next; a dream-like time.
