In Autumn 2017, Ode, which means a magnificent lyric poem in Latin, has opened in a residential area just past the Hiroo shopping district. The meaning of the word is to "convey one's feelings". The owner-chef Mr. Namai makes a presentation of "thought of the producer" as a dish, and says that he would like to convey "the thoughts of Namai" to the guests.
Namai trained at French restaurants in Tokyo and Karuizawa, and worked as the chef of "CHIC peut-etre. It received one star in 2019. Before opening, he spent a lot of time traveling around Japan and communicating with the producers to select the ingredients he likes. The fishes are from the Goto Islands, Kanazawa, Yawatahama, Hakodate and other ports, and are provided by fishermen who have strong feelings for the sea, while the vegetables are procured from farmers who are confronting the soil.
Dinner consists of 11 dishes, including snacks. While preserving the classic elements of French cuisine and sauces, he always offers a gastronomy with fresh and modern tailoring, and always brush it up.
The interior is based on gray, and there are 13 counter seats one step up from the entrance. This place is more like a Chef's Table than a counter. There is also a private room that can be used by 4 people and a semi-private room that can be used by 6 people. Please visit the world of Chef Namai’s Ode.
