This Japanese restaurant, hidden away behind Aoyama Dori's Gaienmae crossing, achieved a world gourmet guide award rating only a little more than a year after its grand opening.
Upon entering the store, you will be greeted by the pleasant and friendly owner. The owner cut his teeth at Okido Yabe before opening his own store. His uncompromising pursuit of perfection is evident in his approach to both his cooking and his hospitality for customers. The high ceiling inside the restaurant provides a spacious atmosphere that is encouraging even for first-time customers to enjoy the seasonal food at a slow pace. Although the seasonally changing menu may include bamboo shoots in the spring, pike congers in the summer, Pacific saury in the fall, and crab and young sardines in the winter, the one constant is the uncompromising pursuit of the best ingredients coupled with a meticulous and thorough approach to cooking. While number of dishes in a single course is impressive, such a reasonable price is truly astounding. Finally, the restaurant is proud to serve the freshly ground, freshly prepared soba noodles made from 100% soba flour.
Whether you want to enjoy a conversation with the chef as you eat, or dine with an important guest in a private room, Ichita is guaranteed not to disappoint you.
