Ginza Gomei is a Teppanyaki-style Japanese grill in a gorgeous, sprawling underground space near Ginza's Sukiyabashi Intersection. This restaurant plays an important role in the popularization of the Akita Beef brand, the production of which is centered in Akita Prefecture.
Akita Beef is a high-quality variety of beef produced specially in the rice-producing region of Akita Prefecture, and requires that Kuroge Wagyu cattle raised in Akita are fed a certain proportion of rice and fattened to Grade 3 or better. "Gomei," based on its own proprietary standards, uses only carefully-selected A4 and A5-rank beef from Akita Cattle that have been raised in this beautiful natural region, carefully nurtured and given superb affection by their farmers. Gomei's seasonal chef's recommended course, in addition to Akita Beef, features many of the rich ingredients available from Akita, delivering a luxurious dining experience that evokes a sense of the four seasons. The "Specially-Selected Akita Beef Gomei Grill" is a must-try. Starting off by grilling at a low temperature to lock in the flavor, this dish delivers incredibly delicious meat.
