The Ebisu branch of the Yoroniku brand that revolutionized Japanese Yakiniku BBQ

Ebisu Yoroniku is perched on the top floor of GEMS Ebisu, an eight-story restaurant complex located at the east exit of JR Ebisu Station.

The restaurant is run by Hideyuki “Vanne” Kuwahara, who is famous for evolving yakiniku as a multiple-course meal, including meat grilled by a BBQ expert and desserts, as well as for suggesting some of the most popular ways to enjoy yakiniku, such as wrapping a spoonful of rice with a piece of meat or dipping meat into beaten raw egg yolk.

Kuwahara is a pioneer who has transformed yakiniku from a Japanese cuisine into a world cuisine; his restaurant attracts renowned chefs from around the world, including Ferran Adrià from El Bulli, Rene Redzepi from Noma, and the late Joël Robuchon.

At Ebisu Yoroniku, beef is sourced from Hiyama, a butcher’s shop in Ningyocho, and carefully cooked at the optimal heat by BBQ experts.

The chefs unlock the flavor of Wagyu beef by using unique techniques to control heat at low temperatures along with masterful knife skills to cut meat to specific requirements. These exclusive techniques are also used to offer à la carte dishes, such as a spoonful of rice wrapped in lightly grilled silky loin, sukiyaki beef dipped in beaten egg yolk, and a rosé cutlet of Châteaubriand cooked at the perfect heat and cut into even cross sections.

As the first yakiniku restaurant to offer luxury ingredients such as truffles and foie gras to highlight the natural flavor of beef, Ebisu Yoroniku continues to break new ground by offering a more sophisticated version of a beloved cuisine. Guests are invited to enjoy the finest multi-course yakiniku meal, which has been appreciated by a wide range of people for years.

With a main dining room and two semi-private rooms seating up to four and ten people, respectively, the restaurant serves a wide range of occasions, ranging from entertaining business clients to dining with friends. Ebisu Yoroniku is also recommended for overseas guests as a globally renowned destination in Japan for exceptional ingredients and sophisticated techniques.
